Accessing Key Tools


Outlook provides keyboard shortcuts for displaying the Send/Receive Groups dialog box, the Move Items dialog box and Copy Items dialog box, the Find bar, the Advanced Find dialog box, and the Address Book. Because you ll often need to access these tools, using keyboard shortcuts can save you time and effort.

Shortcuts for Accessing Key Tools

Display the Send/Receive Groups dialog box

[Ctrl]-[Alt]-[S]

Display the Copy Items dialog box

[Ctrl]-[Shift]-[Y]

Use the Copy Items dialog box to copy the selected item to another folder.

The [Ctrl] - [Shift] - [Y] shortcut doesn t work in Outlook 2000 . Instead, choose Edit Copy to Folder to display the Copy Items dialog box.

Display the Move Items dialog box

[Ctrl]-[Shift]-[V]

Use the Move Items dialog box to move the selected item to another folder.

Display the Find bar

[Ctrl]-[E], [F3]

Use the Find bar (shown here) to perform a basic Find operation. For more advanced searches, use the Advanced Find dialog box, shown next .

The [Ctrl] - [E] shortcut doesn t work in Outlook 2000 , and the Find bar s functionality is different. In Outlook 2000, pressing [F3] displays the Advanced Find dialog box.
