Acrobat provides basic shortcuts for selecting and deselecting all objects, and plenty of shortcuts for selecting text by character, by word, and by line.

Select all the objects

Deselect all objects in the current selection
To select text, activate the Select Text tool, click to place the insertion point, and then use the following keyboard shortcuts.

Extend the selection by one character to the left
Note | You can also use these keyboard shortcuts to reduce an existing selection. For example, if you click to place the insertion point and then press [Shift]-[4] to extend the selection downward by one line, you can then press [Shift]-[1] to decrease the selection by one character. |
