Chapter 1. The Photographic Idea

ALL CREATIVE IMAGES start with a great in-camera photograph. Right? Well, not really. A good photograph begins as an ideaa vision of how to isolate an interesting subject or subjects in a cluttered scene in a way that tells a story or communicates an idea or an emotion when the image is viewed by the photographer or by others.

That's exactly why I have included a chapter on seeing creatively in a book about how to use Photoshop to expand your creative horizons. If you see the world in a more creative way, not only will you have more fun taking pictures, but you'll also have more creative pictures on which to apply the artistic techniques suggested in this book.

This chapter is about thinking before you take a picture and visualizing the end result in your mind. It's also about using basic camera settings that will help you picture your world in your own unique way.

LET'S RIDE.
