For automatic syncing between your iPod and your Mac, plug your iPod Dock into your Mac, and then set your iPod on the Dock.
iTunes lets you customize sync settingssuch as syncing some playlists and not othersin the iPod Preferences window.
To connect the iPod to any stereo receiver, use a 1/8-inch minijack-to-RCA stereo jack cable. This can plug into the jack on the top of the iPod or to a comparable jack in the iPod Dock.
