Exploring Other Sharing Options

When you're browsing through an album, look along the bottom of iPhoto's window; you'll notice other options besides Slideshow and Book.

  • Card and Calendar This option lets you design cards and calendars in much the same way you learned to design a book. Click the Card or Calendar button to create a new item in your Source list. Once you're finished designing, click the Buy button. This connects you to an online printing service that will take your order, bill you, and ship your creations to you.

  • Email This option gives you a simple way to attach photos to an email. Select the photos you want and click Email in the toolbar at the bottom of the window. iPhoto will ask you to select a compression size. (Do your friends want photos as large as you can make them? Do you have a dial-up connection, which necessitates small, highly compressed images?) Then, when you click Compose, iPhoto will attach the images to a blank email in your default email program.

  • Order Prints This option connects you to Kodak Print Service online, where you can select sizes and quantities of individual prints and have them billed and shipped to you.

  • iWeb and Photocast These options let you share pictures from your iPhoto Library, with a blog, a Web site, or a photocast through a .Mac account. You'll learn more about .Mac accounts and Web sites in Lesson 13.
