Answers

1.

Position the playhead over the place you want to put a marker. Click the Chapters button. Click Add Marker.

2.

Keep them in your Movies folder in your Home directory. Although you can direct iDVD to search for movies in other folders, this is the most straightforward option.

3.

Click the plus button at the bottom of the window to add a slideshow or a movie link to the menu; then drag the media into it. Or drag a movie or folder of photos directly onto the menu.

4.

There are lots of things you can customize, but here are two. You can change the look of the buttons, turning them into windows of various styles, changing their text color and/or font. You can remove the template music and replace it with your own, or leave it empty for silence.

5.

Choose View > Show TV Safe Area. You'll want to use this view, as it shows you what part of the picture area you'll be able to see when playing your DVD through a television. Make sure all of your titles and buttons are tucked inside the TV Safe Area.

6.

Click the Map button to see a global view of your DVD and its links.

7.

Click the Preview button. The iDVD interface disappears, and the preview window opens. Use the accompanying remote to control the preview. To close the preview, click the red button in the upper-left corner of the preview window.
