Getting up from your desk is a real drag. Who knows what other work someone is going to ask you to do if you venture out of your safe and cozy cubicle confines. In our ideal world, we'd never get up, and people would serve us flat food and deliver it under the door. But I digress.

There are many times when you might want to operate a computer remotely, without being in the same room or at least not sitting at the same desk.

What's more, operating a computer remotely isn't just about convenience. It can also be about centralizing applications on a single server, with workstations providing a keyboard, mouse, and display but not running applications directly.
