Management

This section includes features and enhancements that provide new capabilities in organizing and accessing information. More effective information management with GroupWise is the goal of these features.

Contacts Folder

The Contacts folder provides a quick way to see the contacts in the address books from the main GroupWise screen. When you click the Contacts folder, the headers and toolbars change to allow you to quickly add and manage your contacts (without doing so from the Address Book). The Contacts folder is discussed further in Chapter 4.

Checklist Folder

GroupWise tasks ” viewed in the Task List folder in previous versions ”are items that need to be completed. In GroupWise 6.5, you can now easily place a message in this folder (via click and drag), creating a Checklist item (covered in more detail in Chapter 5). When combined with the Category feature, it is possible to create organized and grouped tasks from any message type (email, calendar entry, and so on).

Once an item is placed in the Checklist folder, you can verify that it has been completed by clicking the check box next to the entry.

Tabbed Item Views

When you open or an email message or calendar event, a set of handy tabs appears along the top of the message, as shown in Figure 2.10.

We'll discuss the send options in detail in Chapter 8, but as you can see from this figure, they can be easily accessed in a new email message on the Send Options tab. From here you can select a priority, classification, and so on.
