Design Form of Specification (Process Notes 7.4.1)

This task designs the media that you will use to communicate the contents of the requirements specification. The most commonly used approach is to print the specification on paper. Today's technology provides some other alternatives:

  • PDF document

  • Web page

  • A Lotus Notes document

The design of the specification form (typeface, colors, graphics, indexing) makes a great deal of difference to whether anyone will be able to, or will want to, read it. Consider the idea of using a graphic designer to advise you on the form of your specification.
