Acknowledgments

If you have read the first two editions of this book, any of my Bugslayer columns, or heard me speak a conference or in a class, I can't thank you enough! Your continued interest in debugging and writing better code is what kept me slogging through all the tough times writing another edition. I greatly appreciate the e-mail exchanges and discussions we've had. You've taught me a great deal. Thank you.

Three extraordinary people have made this book happen, and I can't thank them enough: Valerie Woolley (project editor), Christophe Nasarre (technical editor), Joel Rosenthal (copy editor), and Ben Ryan (acquisition editor). They took my incoherent ramblings and made them into the book you have in your hands. The effort they put in was simply stupendous.

As with the previous editions, a great group of people have my eternal gratitudemy "Review Crew." These brave souls put up with my complete lack of English skills and still suggested many absolutely amazing debugging tricks. They represent the best in the business today. Here's the lineup: Mark Bartosik, Maria Blees, Derek Cooke, Chad Coon, Stoyan Damov, David Douglass, Richard Dutton, Roberto Farah, Thomas Fejes, Moishe Halibard, Don Kiely, Martin Kulov, Jeff Lewis, Spencer Low, Jim McGregor, Dave Montgomery, Roger Orr, Osiris Pedroso, Jeff Scanlon, Austin Thompson, and Jalil Vaidya. A very special thanks to Maria Blees, her impact on this book is immeasurable.

I am honored and humbled to be associated with my fellow Wintellectuals who contributed to this book in countless ways: Cara Allison, Jim Austin, Jim Bail, Paula Daniels, Sam Easterby, Sara Faatz, Todd Fine, Lewis Frazer, Bethany Jones, Steve Porter, Jeff Prosise, Jeffrey Richter, Kenn Scribner, David Shoots, Justin Smith, and Gregory Young.

Finally, the biggest thank you of all goes, as always, to my wife, Pam. She sacrificed a lot of evenings and weekends while I was working on this book. Honey, it's done. You can have your husband back.
