Chapter 9. Customize Hardware

Got mouse? Of course you do. One way to customize a mouse would be to paint racing stripes on it. A better way is to tweak how Windows interacts with the mouse so that it performs better for you. The other piece of hardware that is just about as common as a mouse is a printer.

In this chapter, you'll learn how to customize your mouse settings and what to do if Windows doesn't recognize your printer after you plug it in.

The starting place for fiddling with hardware settings in Windows XP is the Control Panel.
