Hacker –
An unauthorized person who breaks into a computer system to steal or corrupt data.
Hardware –
Objects that go with the computing environment that can be touched. For example, modems, interface cards, floppy disks, hard drives, monitors, keyboards, printers, motherboards, memory chips, etc.
Home page –
The main page of a website, usually serving as an index or table of contents to other documents stored on the web server.
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) –
Used to create documents on the World Wide Web by defining the structure and layout of a web document through the use of tags and attributes thereby determining how documents are formatted and displayed.
HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) –
Defines how messages are formatted and transmitted over the World Wide Web, and what actions web servers and browsers should take in response to various commands.
Hypertext –
A type of system in which objects, whether they are text, graphic files, sound files, programs, etc., can be creatively linked to each other.
