Lesson 8. Using Components

Components are complex movie clips that contain ActionScript and graphical elements, and they can be customized with defined parameters when you create the Flash movie. Flash MX includes several user -interface (UI) components you can use to add simple interaction to Flash movies. Each component has a set of ActionScript methods that allow you to set parameters and additional options at runtime. The UI components included with Flash are CheckBox, ComboBox, ListBox, PushButton, RadioButton, ScrollBar, and ScrollPane. Each of these components can be found in the Components panel (Window > Components).

The guestbook for the ZooMX Web site uses several components.
