Dalian harbour is now the third largest in China, and the largest export harbour in the country. There are 65 berths especially for crude oil, other oil products, coal, steel , timber, grain, containers and general cargo. Among these, 35 berths are for ships above 10,000 tonnes. The annual handling capacity of Dalian harbour is over 80 million tonnes and it has established shipping relationships with over 150 countries and territories worldwide. Forty-nine air routes have been established connecting Dalian with 47 cities in China and around the world. Railways from Dalian join the rail network of northeastern and northern China. The total length of roads and highways in Dalian is now 4,091 kilometres.
