Resources


Mineral resources currently being developed include iron, copper , phosphorus, manganese, gypsum and rutile. The province produces the most gypsum in the country. Deposits of phosphate, salt, silica, garnet and marlstone are among the highest in China. The province has a hydroelectric power potential of 14 million kilowatts and is also rich in forest reserves and aquatic resources.
