Several examples presented in this book require extensions or external programs not provided with PHP by default. This appendix has been included to explain which extensions were used. A selection of the output of phpinfo() from our development system is presented first. Compare this with the output of phpinfo() on your system; missing packages may need to be added for some of the examples in this book.
Note | Our development system was a fairly standard Linux system. That said, if your paths don't line up with ours or your version numbers aren't exactly the same as ours, don't panic. Things may still work perfectly. Also, if you are developing on another OS such as Windows, Mac OS, or another flavor of *nix, things may be missing or different. Generally, if a package isn't available for a specific OS, there is a suitable replacement. This listing should be used as a guide, not an absolute. |
Following the phpinfo() output, build information for the relevant libraries is presented, with Apache and PHP being presented last because they depend on the other packages.
