Using Raster Animation Tools

Although the main appeal of Flash is the sleekness of vector-based animation, there are occasions when you might want to try something a little different — such as rendering an animation sequence or some graphics in a 3D program. Whether you choose to start your animation in a raster program because you are more comfortable in the authoring environment or because you simply like the look of the artwork, you can easily integrate your raster artwork with Flash projects. An increasing number of programs natively support export to the SWF format. However, the workflow described earlier in this chapter for optimizing a bitmap sequence for Flash can be used to integrate raster image sequences from any program that may not support direct export to the SWF format.
