You can see that ASP is a viable alternative for developing robust Web applications. You have also seen some of the limitations that might cause problems, namely the problem of speed when, for instance, you are manipulating large amounts of text. You have also seen how easy it is to overcome this problem by using ActiveX Server components . The most important lesson is that the sum of ASP's parts is more powerful than its individual elements.
An interesting exercise will be to duplicate these simple applications using ISAPI, the other major way of serving Web applications using IIS. And of course, we will also find that neither ASP nor ISAPI is the perfect tool for all Web applications. Together, however, ASP and ISAPI provide the tools to build whatever we can dream up.
