Martin once again looked at the daily updates he was receiving. Every install and every problem that was resolved or outstanding was documented. With these reports, he could provide anyone with an up-to-the-day snapshot of where the project stood.

Jason looked at his email inbox and sighed. Every message was about the pilot, and none looked too happy. He tried to get update emails out, but had little time to do so.

The Methodology

Since this biometric system is probably new to the company, there will be no existing audit and analysis reports for it. The biometric system itself may have some audit and analysis functionality, which needs to be examined and understood . By doing this, it can be determined what type of information can be collected and analyzed . Once this information is available, existing audit and analysis reports can be leveraged. For example, if there is an audit report created every month that shows user creation and deletion, it is more than likely that the risk management and/or audit group will want similar reports. Additionally, creating these reports now will demonstrate that the project is moving ahead toward rollout. An enterprise system cannot be deployed if it cannot be audited and analyzed. The reports generated during the pilot for audit and analysis will also be useful in making final decisions on success criteria and goal attainment .
