Managed network views allow you to take complete control over what the Mac OS X computers see on your network when browsing for file servers. Managed network views can supplement or completely replace the network view on each client machine. In addition, by controlling which machines are shown on a managed computer, you can also create a hierarchy of servers, in which you can group together similar servers into a network neighborhood, which just looks like a folder on the client machine. Throughout this lesson, you'll learn about the different ways to configure a network view to create a custom list displayed to users browsing your network. By using network views, you can divide your flat view into a well-organized hierarchy. |
