Why should you set up a replica at the same location as master server?
3.
Why should you avoid running other services, such as file services, on the same server that provides directory services?

1.
Having a second replica provides a local (to the remote location) backup directory data source, should the first replica fail. Otherwise, computers at the remote location would be forced to connect over the slow network connection to retrieve directory data from the master or another replica.

If the master server should have a hardware failure, the replica can quickly be promoted to replace the master server.

The more services you run on the directory server, the greater the likelihood of a security breach. Also, running additional services on the same server decreases the performance of the directory server.
