About the Author

Carl Rabeler is an MCT, MCDBA, and MCSE. In conjunction with the Business Intelligence Practices group at Microsoft, Carl authored the technical documentation for the SQL Server Accelerator for Business Intelligence, the DTS Programming Practices Used in SQL Server Accelerator for Business Intelligence white paper, and the Microsoft Analysis Services Performance Guide white paper. Carl wrote the SQL Server High Availability Series, which is available via MSDN. He also wrote the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 System Administration MCSE Training Kit and the Academic Learning Series course based on that book. Before that, he was a subject matter expert for the Microsoft Official Courseware group from 1995 through 2000, working with both Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server. Carl has also been an independent software consultant since 1989, developing hardware and software solutions for a variety of customers.
