Customizing Menus

Customizing Menus

Not only can you manipulate the tools on the toolbars, you can also change the positions of the menus themselves . This is very useful for people who prefer using menus to toolbars .

You should not do this arbitrarily, however, since the menus are usually arranged in a very functional manner. These commands are also consistent with other Windows applications, so changing them may be confusing for other usersespecially multiple users on the same computer. Still, the option is there if you need it.

Adding Commands to Menus

If there is a command that you find yourself using quite often, but don't like where it is currently sitting in the menus, add it somewhere else that's more convenient .

Animating Menus

If you have used FrontPage for any length of time, you may have noticed a "stutter" effect with the menus. You click on a menu and only a portion appears, but after a few seconds, the rest of the menu will open . This function, known as "personalized menus," is a clever idea that lets you just see the most- requested menu commands first.

Clever that is, unless you hate it. Fear not, you can change that behavior, and other menu opening attributes, in just a few steps. You can switch this feature off and configure other menu animation features in one central place in FrontPage 2003.
