Tables in HTML are one of the most complicated forms of the code that you will find on a page. Their use in raw HTML form is not intuitive at all. It's a good thing you won't have to do that too often!
When working with tables, you need to remember that rows are horizontal, columns are vertical, and cells are the rectangles where you will place text, images, or any other objects.
The first thing to do when creating a table is to lay out the border. This will place a framework for your table in the approximate space where you want the table to be.
During the course of creating a table, you may discover that you need some more rows. Rather than redoing the table, just add a row.
NOTE
To add multiple rows at a time, select several rows by clicking and dragging the mouse pointer over the rows you want to select. When you click on Insert Rows, the number of rows inserted will equal the number of rows you originally selected.
Adding columns is just as simple as adding rows.
Got too many rows or columns? Try these steps out for deletion, which work equally as fast for rows or columns.
NOTE
If you select multiple columns, then FrontPage will delete them all with this action.
Most tables, particularly ones that are displaying data, have captions to tell the reader just what the heck they're looking at.
