User Effects

The VS-1680 allows you to create and save up to 200 customized effects patches. These are called user effects. You can create user effects by editing any of the preset effects and then saving them to any of the 200 user effects slots. If you do not save your newly created effects patch, it will be lost when you select another effects patch.

Creating a User Effect

The best way to create a user effect is to select a preset effect with a sound closest to what you wish to create, then alter the settings of that patch and save it.

Saving a User Effect

After you create your new user effect patch, you must save it before you select another effects patch or you will lose everything you just created. To save the user effect, do the following from the effect's edit screen:

1.
Press F4 (Save). The Effect Name screen appears in the display.

2.
Use the jogwheel to select the destination patch number (U000-U199).

3.
Use the cursor keys and the jogwheel to create the name of the user patch. The F keys work as follows :

  • F1 (Hist): Takes you through a list of the last 20 user patch names entered, one at a time.

  • F2 (Clr): Clears all the characters in the window.

  • F3 (Del): Deletes the character where the cursor is positioned.

  • F4 (Ins): Inserts a space where the cursor is positioned.

  • F5 (Write): Stores the user patch and exits the screen.

  • F6 (Exit): Exits the screen without storing the user patch

Entering Characters

If you press and light the [NUMERICS/ASCII] button, you can use the SELECT button to enter characters in a manner similar to a computer keyboard.

4.
After entering the name of the new effects patch, press F5 (Write).

5.
Press PLAY/DISPLAY to exit.
