TIP 33: Customizing Window Sizes

Both the Site window and documents can be resized by dragging the lower right corner, but you can also tell GoLive what page size you prefer and in what position you'd like new pages and new sites to open on your screen.

Window Settings

Once you've got your window size options set, you may have one that you'd like to use for all new documents that are created. Set the front-most window to the desired size and then choose Settings from the Window Size pull-down list. In the dialog box that opens, enable the checkmarks for Markup Document Windows and/or Site Windows. Doing so records both the size of the windows and their position on the screen. Click OK. From then on, any new documents or sites you create will open in the size and position you set in the Window Settings.

You can always go back to the default window configuration by choosing Settings from the Window Size pull-down and then clicking the Use Default Settings button.

With Page Dimensions selected in the status bar (see Tip 31), you'll see a page size listed there in pixels. As you resize the page, the dimensions update. Click and hold the small down arrow to see the Window Size pull-down, which lists additional page sizes (Figure 33a).

Choose Options from the pull-down list. In the dialog box that opens, you can edit the default pages sizes, delete them, or add your own (Figure 33b). Use the buttons in the lower right to add or delete new window configurations. Reorder the list by selecting an item and clicking the arrows on the lower left to move it up or down.
