TIP 114: Find CSS Rules with Quicksearch

The CSS Editor, like the Site window, sports a fabulous new tool called Quicksearch. Located in the upper right corner of the CSS Editor, Quicksearch is extremely handy for quickly locating statements, selectors, or declarations in the CSS document.

Give Me Anything But That

Nestled into the pull-down menu belonging to Quicksearch is a small but ingenious little command named Invert. If you use Quicksearch to find an item, you can then enable Invert to show everything but what you searched for! It's a small detail that shows just how powerful GoLive's CSS Editor is.

To find an item, begin typing its name into the Quicksearch input field. As GoLive identifies items that begin with the letters you type, they will be isolated in the CSS Editor window. To clear the input field, click the to its right. (Don't fret if you don't see it; it will appear once you type something into the input field.)

Quicksearch in the CSS Editor also has a pull-down menu (Figure 114) that gives you a handy way to isolate a number of items you may use in a style sheet (Figure 114).
