This edition of The Waite Group's C Primer Plus continues a tradition of aiding and encouraging those who want to learn the C programming language. The prefaces to the previous editions describe the underlying philosophy and approach of the book, so let's turn to what's new.
Coverage of the ANSI C library has been expanded, and Appendix F, "The Standard ANSI C Library," describes the entire library.
Now that the ANSI C standard has been around for several years , this edition devotes less space to the discussion of pre-ANSI C.
Examples have been retested yet again using several compilers, including the latest from Microsoft and Metrowerks.
The book discusses many of the additions to the ANSI C standard proposed by the C9X committee, some of which are already available on many compilers.
Appendix G discusses the issues facing those wanting to compile C programs with a purely C++ compiler.
The process of refining and improving the presentation continues.
We hope you find this newest edition enjoyable and helpful.
