Dragging a Particle Emitter to the Canvas


In the next series of exercises, you'll apply a particle emitter to the beginning of the Oakley project to add a burst of sparkles as the Detonator watch fades in. As with behaviors and filters, there are many methods for applying particle emitters to a Motion project. Let's start with the simple drag-and-drop method.

In this exercise, you'll drag the Surprise Shimmer particle emitter from the Library to the Canvas and drop it on the lower center of the Canvas where the Detonator watch first appears.

1.

Press the spacebar to begin playback, if the project is not already playing.

2.

In the Library, locate and select the Surprise Shimmer particle emitter.

3.

Drag the Surprise Shimmer emitter from the Library to the Canvas and drop it on the lower center of the frame.

A small burst of yellow, white, and blue sparkles appears above the Detonator watch at the beginning of the project. Not only do they add an exciting effect to introduce the first watchbut they also happen to be the right color scheme for this project. What luck!
