Chapter 5.  Creating Tables

If you have a spreadsheet or database table you'd like to convert to a Web page, you can easily do this with a command in Dreamweaver called Insert Tabular Data. All you have to do is export the data out of the database or spreadsheet application as a comma- or tab-delimited file.

After you've created a delimited file, you can import it by clicking the Insert Tabular Data button in the Insert panel under the Common tab. You can also choose Insert, Table Object, Tabular Data. This launches the Insert Tabular Data dialog box as shown in Figure 5.23. Browse for the data file and set the delimited preferences to either comma or tab and specify how you want the table to appear. Choose OK. All your data will be placed inside an HTML table.
