About the Technical Reviewers

Phil Kostenbader is currently employed by Johnson & Johnson network computing services on the Internet Development team. Previously, he worked for Rutgers University as the lone security analyst and firewall consultant. He also worked for IBM Global Services as the team lead for an eight-person system admin group at the Lucent Microelectronics account. With more than 20 years of experience in the UNIX operating system, he represented IBM during Xerox outsourcing contract negotiations as a UNIX/Sun Enterprise 1000 consultant. He also worked at Lafayette College as the networking and systems coordinator and, while there, was involved in the installation of the campus network and the initial configuration and connection to the Internet in 1990. Phil resides on the East Coast with his wife, Karen.

Mary Morris' background includes 19 years in various computer/MIS roles with a wide variety of companies. Her writing in the UNIX world includes authoring Solaris Implementation: A Guide for System Administrators and co-authoring a couple of Web- related books and Cybercareers. Mary has taught courses for the ACM, Sun Education, San Jose State University Professional Development Center, the Stanford Alumni Association, ZDU, SmartPlanet, and Element K, and she has spoken at several conferences. She also has worked for or consulted with Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, the U.S. Navy, Auspex, Legato, and Bay Networks.
