IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet Protocol (IP) that will eventually replace the current version of IP, IPv4. In the intervening years , both versions co-exist to make the transition easier. This chapter introduces the basics of IPv6, its features, the addressing types and structure, and how to implement IPv6.
