Changing a Slide s Layout

Changing a Slide's Layout

With PowerPoint, you can change a slide's layout template anytime . This feature is especially useful if, for example, you decide you would like to add a chart to a bullet list. To change the layout of a slide, follow these steps:

  1. Click the slide you want to change.

  2. Choose Format, Slide Layout from the menu to open the Slide Layout dialog box.

  3. Select a new layout.

  4. Click the Apply button.

When you change a slide's layout, you're actually applying the layout's specific formatting to the slide. Although you won't lose any presentation information previously typed into a slide (or any objects that have been previously added), you might lose formatting modifications you have made to the text. This process can also be used to reapply the same layout to a slide, just in case you really mess up the formatting.
