Removing Tools and Commands from Toolbars

Removing Tools and Commands from Toolbars

You can remove an item from a toolbar by dragging it off the toolbar while the Customize dialog box is onscreen. However, there's an easier way. You're about to learn a power- user technique that works throughout Office applications as the following steps show.

  1. Move the mouse pointer over a tool you want to remove. The tool will be recessed as if it were being pushed .

  2. Hold down the Alt key. Using the left mouse button, click and drag the tool away from all toolbars so that an X appears. Release the mouse button to complete the removal.
