Chapter 6. Architecting a Migration

 <  Day Day Up  >

As described in the previous chapter, our methodology consists of three main phases: architect, implement, and manage. This chapter explores the tasks involved in architecting a migration solution. The architect phase involves the following tasks :

  • "Assessing the Environment" on page 71

  • "Designing and Architecting a Migration Solution" on page 81

While all migration projects should include these tasks, the amount of time spent on them and the level of detail required to successfully complete them will vary according to the size and scope of the migration.
