About the Author

Dwight Peltzer has extensive experience as a professor of computer science, developer, lecturer, and author. Presently a member of the faculty in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at C. W. Post, Long Island University, he has held Visiting Chair positions at several universities. They include the Fulbright Visiting Professor Chair at Keele University in Staffordshire, England, Southern Illinois University, and the New York Institute of Technology. He teaches seminars in C++, Visual Basic .NET, C# .NET, SQL, ASP.NET, and J2EE-related technologies such as JAXP, Java Server Pages, and XML.

Dwight lectures regularly at universities throughout the United States, Canada, and England. He also presents lectures for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the British Broadcasting Corporation, and National Public Radio.

During the past several years, Dwight has served as consultant to Sheridan Software Inc., A. C. Nielsen, TRW, and Interboro Corporation.

Dwight is also the author of XML: Language Mechanics and Applications (Pearson Addison Wesley, 2003).
