The SMISMCO10 is an omni-directional antenna designed for medium- to long-range multipoint applications. Standing at less than three feet tall and weighing less than a pound , this antenna packs quite a punch for its size.

Signull Technologies offers three versions, a 10-dBi (the model we tested for this book), 8-dBi, and a 5-dBi model. All three of these antennas are perfect for extending the coverage of corporate access points or wireless nodes. They can easily be mounted indoors to provide coverage for a cubical farm, or utilized in a warehouse to help provide coverage for wireless inventory devices. In addition, they are also suitable for outdoor mounting to help provide general coverage in a courtyard or parking lot. While testing the SMISMCO10, we found that it was capable of delivering the high performance that Signull has promised . Please see Figures 1.9 and 1.10 for screenshots showing signal strengths.

To test this antenna, we attached it directly to the access point and attempted to connect to it using a standard ORiNOCO PCMCIA card. The signal strengths shown in Figure 1.10 were consistent in all directions surrounding the access point.

With its firm construction, light weight, and superior performance, the SMISMCO10 by Signull Technologies is a useful addition to your wireless LAN.
