Conclusion


The three sample solutions used a three-level hierarchy. This example can easily be extended to software quality models involving many more levels and numerous decision-makers.

In an enterprise software context, in addition to its usefulness as a decision tool, AHP can also be deployed as part of an overall complexity management strategy involving both complexity reduction and enabling the right design choices to address those complexities. AHP can be powerful in both these aspects. We believe that AHP, along with accompanying software such as Expert Choice, can be used throughout the enterprise software development process as a decision-support tool. AHP applications are well documented.[2], [19], [20], [21] Chapter 23 describes how AHP is used to determine an optimum portfolio of IT projects using the resource aligner extension to Expert Choice.
