IN THIS CHAPTER
When you're new to SQL-NS, you face a steep learning curve. Not only do you have to learn a whole new set of concepts and terms, but you also have to get the code right when building your first application. In this book, I've tried to isolate you from coding problems by presenting complete working examples that let you focus on the key SQL-NS concepts, without worrying too much about the specifics of the code. As a result, you've probably become accustomed to SQL-NS applications that work like they're supposed to, with little or no debugging required. Unfortunately, when you start building your own applications, things may not go so smoothly. Like most SQL-NS developers, you will probably have to deal with problems in your code that keep your application from working as you'd expect. This chapter is about debugging the core SQL-NS application logic that you specify in the ADF. The tools and techniques described in this chapter will help you isolate and fix problems in your code. Note This chapter focuses on debugging code. It does not cover deployment and configuration problems, nor is it a general troubleshooting guide. For troubleshooting information, see Chapter 15, "Troubleshooting SQL-NS Applications." |
