3-14 bgp deterministic-med

Syntax Description:

This command has no arguments.

Purpose: If bgp always-compare-med is enabled, the metric or MED is compared to every path regardless of the neighbor AS. Without bgp deterministic-med or bgp always-compare-med, the order of the paths can make a difference when selecting the best path. When you're using bgp deterministic-med, the router sorts the paths based on neighbor AS and MED so that the paths are sorted the same way every time. This produces a deterministic best-path selection.
