Section 15.2. Sending Out a File for Review

15.2. Sending Out a File for Review

You've got a handful of choices when it comes to sending your presentation out for review. The easiestfor both you and your recipientsis to attach your presentation to an email message. You an also copy it to a CD/DVD or to a file server.

If you use Microsoft Outlook, emailing your presentation to one or more folks for review takes just a couple of mouse clicks, as you see in the following steps. If your recipients have Microsoft Office 2007 installed, they'll find reviewing your PowerPoint 2007 presentation a snap, too: double-clicking a PowerPoint presentation attachment inside Outlook automatically pops up PowerPoint.

15.2.1. Emailing Using Outlook

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint, and then choose Office button Send Email.

Microsoft Outlook pops up, pre-filled with a blank email message that has your presentation automatically attached (Figure 15-3).

  2. Type an email message.

For example, give your recipients some guidelines for reviewing and returning the presentation to you, including a deadline.

  3. Type your recipients' email addresses (or select them from your Outlook address book). Click Send when you're done.

Outlook sends the presentation as an attachment to each addressee.

Figure 15-3. PowerPoint 2007's Office button Send Email option fires up Outlook, creates a blank email, and attaches your presentation file, all in one fell swoop. This option replaces the two "File Send to Mail Recipient (for Review)" and "File Send to Mail Recipient (as Attachment)" options offered by earlier versions of the program.

15.2.2. Emailing Using Other Programs

Fire up your email program and create a new message. (The Office button Send Email option described previously launches Outlook only.) Then fill in your recipients email addresses, attach your presentation file (for example, myPresentation.pptx ), and send the email.
