Chapter 6. creating titles

Titles are text-based frames that can appear full screen on a video track or superimposed over video clips or digital pictures. I generally use titles in at least three places in my video productions.

First, I open each movie with a title so the viewer knows what he or she will be watching. I also usually insert titles at scene changes, primarily to let the viewer know what's coming and that the movie is, in fact, moving along. Finally, I close most projects with closing credits.

Premiere Elements includes some amazing templates that make it simple to add high quality titles to your movie. If you prefer to design from scratch, you'll be delighted with the styles and tools included with the Title Designer.

Either way, there's nothing like a great title to begin a movie.
