Finding an Agent/Insurance

We generally advise people to find an insurance agent who represents more than one product or company. Agents who have relationships with multiple insurance carriers can offer you more choices. Also ask other small businesses or work-at-home types for recommendations. You want someone honest, and, in turn , you need to be honest with the agent in order for him or her to best assess your needs. If the first agent you call, for instance, "rates" you poorly (i.e., says you cannot qualify for the best rates because of certain risk or health problems), then call around. Agents tend to compete with each other. Erica was rated poorly by one major company, but another top company gave her its best rates.

As you can see, insurance has multiple layers and ins-and-outs. Assess your own needs honestly, and don't neglect this important element in your 60-second commute.
