Programming Interfaces for Active Directory

So far in this book I haven't presented sample source code because I wanted first to dispense information about how Active Directory is structured and provide ideas for how developers can take advantage of it. Now it's time to introduce the technologies that are used to communicate with Active Directory and write some code. In this chapter, I'll explain the various programming interfaces that developers can use with Active Directory, and I'll present some simple programs to illustrate the concepts involved in programming with Active Directory.
