Inserting a Clip Art Image

Microsoft Office Specialist     PowerPoint includes hundreds of professionally designed pieces of clip art . To add a slide with a clip art image to a presentation, you can use an AutoLayout with a content placeholder and click its Insert Clip Art button, which opens the Select Picture dialog box. You can also point to Picture on the Insert menu, and then click Clip Art or click Insert Clip Art on the Drawing toolbar to open the Clip Art task pane. In the Select Picture dialog box or the Clip Art task pane, you can search for clip art by keyword, and then simply click the image you want to insert it into the current slide.

Tip

If you click AutoShapes on the Drawing toolbar and then click More AutoShapes, PowerPoint opens the Clip Art task pane with clip art shapes displayed. You can then click a shape to add it to the current slide.

To make clip art and other media available no matter where they are actually stored, you can use the Microsoft Clip Organizer . This handy tool enables you to sort clip art images, pictures, sounds, and motion clips that are stored in different locations into collections. You can use the Clip Organizer to organize clip art images from The Microsoft Office System, from the Web, or from other sources. You can add images to existing collections and create new ones by clicking Add Clips to Organizer on the Clip Organizer s File menu or by clicking the Import button at the bottom of the Select Picture dialog box. To find an image, you can browse your collections or search for specific files or media types, such as movies or clip art.

Tip

To delete a clip art image from the Clip Organizer, click the down arrow to the right of the image, click Delete from Clip Organizer, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion.

If you can t find the image you want in the Clip Organizer, you can search for additional images in Office Online , a clip art gallery that Microsoft maintains on its Web site. To access Office Online, you click the Clip Art on Office Online link at the bottom of the Clip Art task pane. This launches your Web browser and navigates to the Office Online Web page, where you can access thousands of free clip art images.
