So many people have contributed to the success of this book; it is difficult to know where to start. We definitely subscribe to the idea that no one knows everything and we are certainly smart enough to know what we don't know. Thus, we enlisted formal and informal help to fill in those gaps. This list includes technical contributors as well as personal friends , family members , and HP management that gave invaluable assistance and support in many ways to make this book a reality. We have each made our own list, but first, there are several individuals who we want to recognize jointly.

Walter Bruce ” Walt was our first contact with HP Books and helped us greatly in the early days of the proposal and provided much-needed assistance. We are not sure where Walt is now but we hope he sees this and knows we appreciate his efforts.

Frank Blando ” Frank, a.k.a. "Mr. Cluster," authored Chapter 13 as well as the WMI section of Chapter 10. Frank's expertise is well known at HP and we are privileged to have his insight into high availability clusters in this book

Carl Nadrowski ” Carl contributed to Chapters 6, 10, and 12 and provided countless hours of advise on technical content. His work is truly appreciated.

Don Livengood ” Don, a recognized author of Exchange books for Digital Press, authored Chapter 12 on very late notice and provided an excellent chapter on Exchange migration to Exchange 2003.

Thaddeus Fortenberry ” "Mr. VPN" provided us with expert advice in Chapter 14 on Remote Access Services. Thaddeus was heavily involved in the design and deployment of Compaq and now HP's VPN infrastructure, and we are appreciative of him sharing his experience in Chapter 14.

Ann Lovell ” Ann is a member of HP Services Windows Enterprise Support Team and deals with Terminal Services on a regular basis. She authored Chapter 15 and provided insight into licensing issues.

Technical Editors ” Without these folks, there would be no book:

Martin Courtney ” A late comer to the review of the book, Martin provided some great vision that caused a nearly complete reorganization of the book. He also tech reviewed Chapters 2, 7, 8, and 9. We are indebted to Martin for his candid and accurate assessment.

Guido Grillenmeier ” A Microsoft MVP in Active Directory, Guido is one of the best AD experts I know of. I asked him to tech review my AD chapters to make sure they were correct. He corrected a number of errors and taught me some things along the way. His efforts are truly appreciated.

Dung Hoang Khac ” Dung stepped in and reviewed a number of chapters in record time that allowed us to keep somewhat on schedule. Dung is an AD and Exchange expert for HP and his expertise kept us on the right track.

Christoffer Larsson ” Christoffer provided the case study and a technical review of Chapter 15. Terminal Server case studies are difficult to find and we are appreciative of his contribution.

Tony Redmond ” I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Tony for over six years now. A very well-known author himself, Tony served as "Sponsor" for this book and helped behind the scenes to help obtain much-needed technical information and provided guidance along the way.

Others ” Aric Bernard, Jeff Allen, Rick Cantrell, Stu Bernstein, Jan De Clercq, Drew Dimmick, Dan Boldo, Chris Jaramillo, Dave Heuss, Wook Lee, Mark Graceffa, Cliff Loven, Nigel Leaney, Chris Price, Nigel Stevens (Reed Elsevier), Kevin Gibson (Georgia DOT), Cliff Loven (Eastman Chemical), and Whitney Gray.
