Microsoft provides many changes to MSCS in Windows Server 2003. However, all are targeted at improving the manageability and reliability and not at adding major new functionality. When migrating to a Windows Server 2003-based MSCS cluster, it's crucial to review all the MSCS cluster components and prepare a separate upgrade plan for the hardware, storage, OS, and applications.

Conversely, Microsoft added some major functionality to NLB in Windows Server 2003 to increase the potential target audience for the product. However, upgrading an NLB cluster to Windows Server 2003 should be very simple and does not require major hardware or storage upgrades.
