Ralph Crump (CCEA, CCNP\DP, MCSE, MCNE, ASE) is a Senior Consultant for an integration and services firm in Atlanta, Georgia. He develops large-scale Networking and Security solutions for Enterprise customers, also specializing in Citrix and thin-client technologies. He is currently pursuing his Cisco CCIE certification as well as the Citrix Certified Instructor for MetaFrame XP. In addition, Ralph currently co-hosts the Atlanta Citrix Users group in the Atlanta area.

Travis Guinn (CCA, MCSE, CCSA, CCSE, A+) is currently a Senior Technical Officer with JPMorgan Chase in Dallas, TX. He has worked in the IT industry for 10 years and started one of the first Windows NT based ISPs in Charleston, South Carolina, where he gained extensive experience in TCP/IP and large scale dial-in solutions from US Robotics. Travis then worked for a large Citrix integrator for three years on projects involving MetaFrame, 3Com Total Control, Checkpoint Firewall-1, RSA SecurID, AVT RightFax, and a Windows 2000 based Managed Service Provider initiative.

Craig Luchtefeld (CCEA, MCSE, MCP+I) is a Network Engineer at STL Technology Partners, a Bloomington, IL based company that focuses on web and network solutions, custom programming, and technical training. Craig has more than eight years of computer and computer network experience and specializes in the field of Terminal Services and Citrix-based technology.

In his spare time, Craig enjoys spending time at home with his wife, Mandy, in addition to reading, skating, mountain biking, and computer gaming.

Ron Oglesby (CCEA, CCI, MCSE, CSA) is Citrix Consultant in Chicago and has worked with every Citrix product since WinFrame 1.5. Ron was named as one of the 'Original CCEAs' by Citrix's Certification staff for being one of the first 50 CCEAs in the world. He has managed and been part of teams whose function was the design, implementation and troubleshooting of large corporate Citrix environments. His current projects have drawn him into the world of web development for incorporating company intranets with Citrix's application portal technology, Nfuse. Ron has trained hundreds of Administrators on the proper configuration and management of MetaFrame 1.8 and MetaFrame XP.

When not working with computers, he enjoys bodybuilding, motorcycles, and spending time with his daughter Madison, wife Dina, and their three cats.

Heather Simpson (CCEA, CCA, MCSE) currently works as a Senior Consultant for All Bases Covered in San Diego, CA. Heather has provided consulting services on a number of MetaFrame implementation projects, spanning small to enterprise-sized corporations. Outside of server-based computing, she enjoys spending her time hiking, biking, and surfing.

James Spadaro (CCEA, MCSE, CCNA, CNA) is a systems integration specialist for an outsourcing firm in Philadelphia, PA. He currently manages a large group of Citrix WinFrame and MetaFrame servers, providing fortune 500 companies with 24-hour access to custom pension and benefit management software. James has a business degree from Michigan State University and has several years of LAN/WAN experience, specializing in remote access and thin-client solutions.

Joel W. Stolk (CCA, CCNA, MCSE) has been working with Citrix and related thin client technologies for over five years. His professional background includes many years of field consulting experience in Texas and California. He currently works at Trammell Crow Company in downtown Dallas as the MetaFrame Operations Engineer.

Joel enjoys snowboarding, snow skiing, surfing, and writing electronic music in his spare time. His music can be found at http://www.mp3.com/exobyte.

Connie Wilson (CCA, MCSE, MCP+I, CNA) has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years, with her most recent positions in Consulting. She is currently the Senior Network Engineer for GE Capital in Phoenix, AZ where she built and now manages the Citrix MetaFrame server farm.

Kevin Wing (CCEA, MCSE, CCNA) is a System Engineer for Pomeroy Computer Resources. He has a BA in Communications from Western Kentucky University and has worked with computers for his entire life, beginning with Atari 400s and working his way upward. He has been in the profession for seven years, and began working on VAX/VMS and Digital Unix machines, then progressing to NT systems. He has worked with Citrix for three years.

His hobbies include computers, pipe smoking, and reading. Kevin lives in Nashville, TN with his fianc…, Cathy and three cats.

Technical Editor

Melissa Craft (CCA, CCNA, MCSE, Network+, CNE-5, CNE-3, CNE-4, CNE-GW, MCNE) designs business computing solutions using technology to automate processes, and using business process reengineering techniques.

Early on in her career, Melissa threw herself at the task of truly understanding network engineering, gaining a myriad of technology certifications and, at the same time, deploying projects for clients. Over the years, Melissa has successfully designed, implemented and integrated networks ranging in size from a few nodes to over 100,000 nodes. This consulting experience incorporated extensive project management, needs-analysis, LAN and WAN design, deployment and operational turnover.

In 1997, Melissa began writing magazine articles regarding networking and the technology industry. In 1998, Syngress Media hired Melissa to contribute to an MCSE certification guide. Since then, Melissa has continued to write about various technology and certification subjects.

Currently, Melissa works on Microsoft Solutions for CompuCom Systems, Inc. CompuCom is a systems integrator headquartered in Dallas, Texas. CompuCom provides business services, IT design, project management and support for distributed computing systems. Melissa is a key contributor to the business development of Microsoft technology-based solutions. As such, she develops enterprise-wide solutions and methodologies focused on client organizations. These technology solutions touch every part of a system's lifecycle-from network design, testing and implementation to operational management and strategic planning.

Melissa holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, and is a member of the IEEE, the Society of Women Engineers and American MENSA, Ltd. Melissa currently resides in Glendale, Arizona with her family, Dan, Justine and Taylor, and her two Great Danes (a.k.a Mobile Defense Units), Marmaduke and Apollo as well as her Golden Retriever (a.k.a. Mobile Alarm Unit) Pooka.

Technical Reviewer

Raj Harie (CCA, MCSE, MCP+I, CNE) has been working with network operating systems for the last five years. After studying for a Commerce degree in Grahamstown, South Africa, he embarked on a career in Information Technology. He completed his Novell CNE in Intranetware and his MCP+I and MCSE before moving to London, England and taking a position as a Systems Engineer at Westcon UK, a worldwide distributor headquartered in New York, USA. After achieving his CCA status in Winframe and MetaFrame, along with plenty of hands on experience, he rose to a position of Senior Systems Engineer with a team of Citrix Technical staff under his wing, before the call of the African bush lead him back to his native South Africa. He is currently employed as the Citrix Channel Manager for the South African division of Westcon in the Enterprise Business Unit, overseeing the technical and commercial needs of a fast growing channel that encompasses South Africa and the neighboring states.
