Chapter 4 begins this part of the book by explaining the basics of physically creating Ethernet LANs. Chapter 5 follows with coverage of the rules and protocols that computers must follow to use an Ethernet LAN. Chapter 6 explains some improvements to Ethernet LANs, including options for faster LANs. Finally, Chapter 7 completes this part of the book by describing how one collection of LAN hardware can be used to create multiple virtual LANs.
