Open the View menu, choose Toolbars , and select Web .
The Web toolbar appears. Type the address of the Web page you want to visit and press Enter .
The Web page whose address you typed is displayed in the main Outlook window.
INTRODUCTION
In addition to accessing your e-mail, viewing your scheduled events, and creating a task list, you can also access the Internet from Outlook. You can do so using the Web toolbar. Note that you must be connected to the Internet to view Web pages.
TIP
Web Addresses
Web addresses (also called URLs ) are in this format: www. domainname.ext . You can often leave off the www , which stands for World Wide Web. domainname refers to the site name. (You can sometimes guess a site's domain name by typing the company or site name. For example, the domain name for the NBA's Web site is nba .) ext stands for extension and indicates the site's type. Common extensions are .com (commercial), .net (network), .org (organizations and nonprofit groups), and .edu (education).
Use the toolbar buttons to navigate to other pages, including going back a page, going to your start page, and stopping the display of a page.
To close the Web site, click any of the other Outlook tools. (Be sure also to log off your Internet connection if needed.)
The Web page is closed and you see the view for the selected tool (here, Outlook Today).
HINT
Hiding the Toolbar
To hide the toolbar, open the View menu, choose Toolbars , and select Web . Doing so hides the toolbar but does not close the Web page that is displayed. You must select another Outlook feature to remove the page from the Outlook window.
TIP
Moving the Toolbar
You can move the toolbar by clicking the left-most portion of the toolbar and dragging it to the desired spot.
